Hi,
Am new to this group!Actually i was working on the Web Server Project as pasrt of my Graduate course.I am using rabbit 3200 for this.Intially when i started off everythn went on fine.N i'd been working on it from the past 2 days!It worked perfectly!I tried running a few demo programs....n then i tried to run the program for pinging.Everythn worked perfeclty!
Bt dunno what happened 2ay all of a sudden in the mroning when I did the hardware connections n tried to compile a program I got an error message sayin:"While sending cold loader-no rabbit processor detected".
Actually what happened was yesterday i took it home n tried connecting it to my laptop. Am using a serial DB9 to USB converter to connect it to my laptop. There also it flashes the same error message.
2day morning when i brought it bak to the lab and tried connecting it to the same machine, the same message keeps coming.
I checked all the hardware connections!Everythn seems to be fine!I tried changing the baud rate!Still i get the same error msg! Then I tried connecting it to a diff COM port!NOGo!
Finally I could figure out that it was smthn to do with the power.i checked the power that goin' to the board!its 3.27v.
Am held up with this error message!
Kindly help me out with this!
regards,
Anupama

Three choices. First, the RS232 converter is bad; second, the Rabbit
processor died; third, the connector finally died.

The only one I can help you with is the connector. You have to cough up
money to fix the rest.

The weakest link the the rabbit programming cable is the little 10 pin
IDC connector. You take it off and on enough times and the connection
to the ribbon cable starts to get loose.

I put a switch in my cable to disconnect wires 5,9 and 10 when I want to
just run or use the diagnostics. I CAREFULLY took the connector labeled
"DIAG" and put it further up the line just past the the connector
labeled "PROG". That way I know I'm on good cable. Once you prove out
this connector works, cut off the old "PROG" connector and excess wire
and keep the connector as a spare in case you have to do this again.

I can't really describe how to get the IDC connector off except to say
that the narrow sides snap onto the housing and you have to GENTLY and
SLIGHTLY pry them back from the latch to release it. If you've never
done this before ask someone who has. Once you see it done it becomes
obvious and easy.

Good Luck
-Pete
