Hi,

I am running linux on my desktop with Windows installed under VMWare.
I would like to get dynamic C working on it but it fails to
communicate over the on board serial port, or via the USB-serial
converter i use. I have installed and used dynamic C on a windows
desktop without problem before so i think this is a VMWare issue.
Using hyperterminal I have been able to see that data is going in and
out via the correct port.

Does anyone have any experience getting this to work?

pete

Are you looking if all the RS 232 signals are present?
The prog cable requieres not only Tx and Rx, also DTR and DSR signals.

Have you tried the USB comunications option and disabling the
Processor verification?

Dynamic C has very strict timing requirements (too much so in my
opinion), so you may be seeing something related to that.. The 2
options I mentioned previously help with the timing..

Hi,

I managed to get it going using a usb-serial adaptor. it seems that
going through through the VMWare/linux drivers does not work, at least
not without some tweaking.
